Mission Training Center
The Mission ABQ: Mission Training Center
In addition to our course-based educational programs, we offer hands-on educational experiences through our internships and short-term missions programs.
Community and Life Skills Courses
Our experience has taught us that, in order to prepare people to help others, they first need to be able to stand on their own as a health individual. Many of our students need to process past trauma through counseling and are in need of training in areas that many people would consider basic life functions, such as communication and conflict resolution, GED preparation, financial literacy training, parenting training, and many other basic skills. One of the core functions of MTC is to provide, either through our programs or through our partners, these basic training opportunities.
Heartbeat Connection
In addition to distributing needed supplies, such as diapers, baby food, blankets, clothing, etc., Heartbeat Connection offers parenting workshops as a part of our Mission Training Center. Our hope is that we are not only meeting a physical need, but equipping people to better meet their own needs and those of their families.
Continuing Lay Training
The Mission Training Center partners with the USA/Canada Church of the Nazarene to provide Continuing Lay Training (CLT) courses. Some of these courses can be used to pursue a Certificate of Lay Ministry.
Ministry Preparation
The Mission Training Center partners with the NM District Church of the Nazarene to provide courses in Alliance with Nazarene Bible College that are transferable by portfolio for college credit.
Ministry Equipping
The Mission Training Center also has a Master Trainer and several Certified Trainers capable of training in the modules produced by Dynamic Church Planting International (DCPI). We have offered trainings in Churches Planting Churches (CPC), Church Planting Essentials (CPE), and New Church Dynamics (NCD).
